Rev. John Hogue began his ministry at Faith United Church of Christ on April 17, 2005. Rev. John Hogue has been in the ministry for 14 years and was ordained as a UCC minister in 1996. He graduated from high school in Pennsylvania and received a Master of Divinity degree from Pittsburg Theological Seminary, Pittsburg, PA, in 1994. He has been married to Veronica for 14 years and they have three children, Daniel, 11, Isaac, 8, and Nethanel, 4.

Rev. Hogue believes:

  • Jesus is the basic authority and head of the church.
  • One should uphold the traditional worship service while seeking outreach with alternative styles of services.
  • Messages from the pulpit should never condemn and everyone should leave empowered.
  • Humor is healing.
  • Confidentiality is the highest form of trust that a person shares with a pastor and must be upheld.
  • In the beautitudes, and that if God is at the center of your life, everything else will fall into place.
  • That a ministry in its simplest and purest form is LOVE.
  • That with the ever changing dynamics of our culture, we need to think "outside of the box!" and to bring people into the church.
